Charles MacLeod is a Lighting Designer based in Denver, Colorado.  The Denver Center for the Performing Arts has been Charles’ Artistic home since 1983 (over 300 shows) with occasional tours/designs across the US and abroad (Great Britain and Japan).  His designs have encompassed all types of situations from small black box theatres, theatre in the round, thrust and arenas to warehouses.
Charles is an energetic and engaging collaborator comfortable working with other creative partners.  Immersive work and problem solving in a heartbeat is one of many strong suits in addition to an un-fatigable wit and humor during the entire production process.   Charles is proud to have been a part of the creative Design team on 37+ World Premiers to date.  Charles is the proud recipient of several Denver Drama Critics Circle Awards and Nominations in addition to a True West Award (2016), Henry Award (2022) as well as a Heartland Regional Emmy Award for Outstanding Production.  Time magazine writes: “Charles MacLeod achieve(s) just the right balance between the seedy and dreamlike”- They Shoot Horses, Don’t They?.
